Programming online course.

During this spring break I’ve had an assignment for my technology class that consisted of completing a programming course so I decided to give it an opportunity as that maybe was another way of learning programming through a more organized way. To my disappointment I quickly found out that the course was about a block-based visual programming language and after earning the certificate required I have decided that I will not go down this route.

I can see how this type of programming languages can be good for completely strangers to programming as it can perfectly teach the basic notions and the mindset that you have to be in when it comes to programming, but having the blocks displayed for you to click and drag is a big downside for me as I found learning the syntax to be a big part of programming.

In conclusion I think that this type of programming courses is targeted to a younger audience and it was a mistake from my school to assign it to 9th grade students but I definitely recommend it to someone younger that wants to get into programming.
